Topic/Skill: Full Verb Review
Feedback: We did a full review of the verb tenses on this day, so I was more nitpicky with feedback since we had already learned everything, and she demonstrated a strong understanding in previous sessions. During comprehension checks and the final discussion, I would provide feedback by correcting wrong answers or supporting her through fixing her own mistakes.
Lessons learned: Having the student fix their own mistakes seems like a good way to provide feedback. It gives students the confidence to review their own work outside of the sessions, and they won’t always rely on someone else to correct them. I think integrating self-feedback with overall feedback is something to consider in the future.
