Group 1 (Beginners) - Grammar with Dr. Felicia Ciappetta
To start the class she gives her student, because there was only one, the assignment of interviewing me and another person. He was to ask simple questions like "what is your name?", "where are you from?" and other similar easy personal questions and write down the answers. As he asked the questions she made sure he used correct grammar and corrected him in person as well as on his google doc if he forgot words. After he completed those questions she asked him those same questions about us, ensuring she asked, and he answered in complete sentences. If he did not know the answer she urged him to ask for the answer in correct grammar.
After that we did an alphabet game where we all took turns saying one letter of the alphabet in a circle switching people until completion, we did this until he was able to keep up with no mistakes until the end of the alphabet. After we did that successfully she guided him to certain pages in his dictionary before he was tasked into giving us a second round interview. He asked us questions about our daily activities (we tried to answer in simple complete sentences from activities mentioned in the book) and wrote them down on his google doc. After this she then asked him questions about us and made sure he answered in complete sentences using correct verb tenses and plural. If he did not understand she explained deeper into the sentence he was messing up on. Lastly she asked him some activities we and he "doesnt" do everyday and helped clarify his verb tenses.
Throughout the duration of the class the teacher made sure to make him repeat/clarify himself if he made a grammar mistake when speaking.
